Parmigiani Launches The Tonda 1950 Ultrathin Small Three-hand Watch

The Tonda 1950 watch launched at the 2011 SIHH in Geneva is a watch that Parmigiani returns to tradition and classics. This small three-hand watch in rose gold and white gold is small and refined, while at the same time possessing a high level of comfort and convenient time viewing.

The watch is equipped with the new PF701 self-winding movement, with a diameter of 30mm (13.25 legal minutes) and a thickness of only 2.6mm. This movement is equipped with platinum 950 miniature eccentric automatic oscillating weight, which can provide 42 hours of power storage at 21600vph vibration frequency. In addition, according to Parmigiani, this movement will also add a date function in the future. Since the space has been planned for new components in advance, it will not affect the delicate appearance of the Tonda case.

This PF701 movement has been carefully modified: the main plate of nickel silver has been sandblasted, rounded and rhodium-plated. The bridge is sandblasted, frosted, or Geneva rippled, then manually chamfered, and finally rhodium-plated. At the same time, both sides of each gear are eye-catching-chamfers, grooves and round finishes, and gold plated before cutting.

The watch case has a thickness of 7.80mm and a diameter of 39mm. Black or white dial with 12-hour indexes. The small seconds dial is located at 6 o’clock and the word PARMIGIANI FLEURIER is printed at 12 o’clock.
